    Offline browsing?

Is there a setting or something I need to do to view the content offline when I'm on my phone. Seems to look for info on the server, & when I'm on the subway I can't see anything.

    Thx for the help -

    Re: Offline browsing?

    Hello,

If you are viewing mDigger Channles selected from our Catalog, then all content is viewable off-line. On the other hand, if you use RSS feeds, many of them display only headlines, and you have to go to the source website to read the text.

One of the advantages of mDigger is that you are not limited by RSS feeds and can view full-text articles and images from regular websites by using mDigger channels.

    Re: Offline browsing?

Thx - I am using the Channels.  I think what happens is that if I'm offline & I ask to go to one of the channels I just was reading online, it tries to get the content again, & it dissappears.

To be specific, I'm on an iphone and using the NYT: Business Channel.

    Thx -

    Re: Offline browsing?

mDigger is currently web-based for iPhone, which means that you do need the connection. We expect that by March we will release a new version of mDigger that will allow iPhone users to read everything off-line. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Re: Offline browsing?

Great - looking fwd to that.

In the meantime, I figured out a workaround that kind of works, by not clicking for an update or any links when in the subway, and leaving the browser cached with the info.

This is indeed a good workaround! Thank you for posting it in the forum!

    Re: Offline browsing?

Has this problem been solved yet? Because I still can't seem to get it to work offline.
    Thanks

    Re: Offline browsing?

Yes, a native client (on device version) of mDigger is in the works for the iPhone and iPod Touch. We don't have an exact release date for it yet, but expect it will be within the next few months. Please check our website regularly for the latest news.

    Thanks for using mDigger!

    Re: Offline browsing?

We are still working on creating the client for iPhone that would allow reading off-line and it is taking us a little more time than we expected. Sorry for the delay.
