PPC vs iPod Touch startup time

I have a windows mobile phone and an iPod touch both running mDigger. The WM device required mDigger to be installed while the Touch is web based. With around 30 feeds why does the WM device take to long to grab all the feeds before I view them? The Touch is instant. Is there a way to set up the WM device to not store all the feeds before letting me view them?

    Hello.

You shouldn't be experiencing much of a delay in downloading the data on your WM device for only 30 RSS feeds. It may have to do with the volume of your feeds or perhaps your data connection. For instance some feeds, such as Craigslist feeds, provide a large volume of data. If you would kindly provide us with your user ID (NOT password, just user ID please), we will gladly investigate the problem and see if we can help improve the performance for you.

    Hello again.

We checked out the list of RSS feeds you've subscribed to and see that their volume is about 9 MB.

mDigger Reader for Windows Mobile uses special caching techniques to optimize/minimize download times when you refresh your mClips and feeeds.  This version of mDigger is what we call an offline version and its greatest advantage is being able to view the information in full at your convenience offline. So once you refresh, you then can view the information in the subway or wherever. Unfortunately we do not yet have a web version of mDigger Reader for devices running on WM.

If you have a sotrage card for your phone, we suggest that you try to change the storage location in mDigger Reader from main memory to your storage card,. This usually  increases the refresh speed several times.

Alternatively you can access your mDigger account online directly from your device by using your phone's web browser and view all of your subscriptions in this manner. To do this simply do to the sign in page on our mobile website here: https://pda.mdigger.net/en/login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fen%2fprofile%2fdefault.aspx

The version you are using with your iPod Touch is a web application and yes, that's why it appears instantaneously.

Thanks for your feedback and thanks for using mDigger.
